CREATE POLYGON SECTORS

Now we make the real polygon sectors

1. In the TOP view, Add-mesh-UVsphere ( Segments:30, Rings:30)
2. Go to FRONT view, select and delete all unnecessary vertices (leave only first 6 rings)

3. From one edge of the "DUMMY 6-GON" make the plane for cutting (In Edit mode select 2 vertices, duplicate them, separate with P key, extrude and scale along axis)

4. In the bottom right window go to Script Window and choose Script-Object-Knife Tool

5. Cut the sector 6 time by rotating the plane

6. Now we have one undesirable situation. Near the corner we must delete this 6 vertices and make new 2 quads as shown in the image

7. Now we can extrude the periphery edges

8. In the SIDE view select all vertices and move them to align with 3D cursor as shown in the image

9. Rotate selection 90 degrees arround the 3D cursor to the right

10. Apply the same procedure to form DupliVert like with the DUMMY
11. Now we have 20 sectors with 6-gon in the right position
12. Make dupli objects real with key combination CTRL+SHIFT+A

13. Repeat the same procedure for the 5-gon (don't forget to rotate vertices 27 degree in Edit mode to align edge). UVsphere have now 25 segments and 30 rings

14. Several 5-gons sectors are very "insubordinated" but don't worry.

15. Select sector, go to View - Align View - Align View to Selected

16. Rotate it 18 degree (Hold CTRL+SHIFT key). So it's much better

17. Now give the sectors some fine subsurf value, bump skin and...voila. Real soccerball made with powerful BLENDER:)
